Crippling self-doubt – what you have been doing to overcome . . .
You can’t shake your struggles with low self-esteem, depression, or anxiety.
What you’ve been trying to overcome these challenges on your own isn’t working.
Sometimes life just feels so overwhelming. It feels like you’re beyond finding the healing you want and need.
Can I really be helped?
What will I say? She will just think I am so screwed up and broken.
Does therapy even help?
Will I have to talk about my childhood? Do I tell her I’ve done things I am not proud of? What if I cry?
Maybe you’re new to therapy. Or perhaps you tried therapy in the past…
Will it work this time? I can’t even fulfill my commitments to eat healthier and exercise more.
What’s the point? I’ve never been good with change.
Ok, maybe I could just go for an appointment or two.
I get it… this isn’t an easy first step.
We all use something…
It might be fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, impulsivity, or self-sabotaging thoughts and behaviors to get through every day.
These emotions and behaviors provide a ‘protective shield’ you’ve been wearing as a ‘badge of honor’ to survive feeling unhappy, incomplete, and unfulfilled.
You know you are capable of more. You’ve just lost sight because you’ve been ‘fighting’ for so long.
Our ‘somethings’ show up in the language we use, the food we eat, the aches and pains in our bodies, our exercise habits, and our endless ‘scrolling’ to continue fueling our daily battles with ourselves and those in our lives.
The fighting can end today.
Together, we will explore and replace your ‘somethings’ to improve your self-esteem by using communication techniques to improve your thoughts and elicit the response we want from ourselves and others.
The therapeutic process varies for everyone…
You think . . . I need this, but what if it doesn’t work for me? Can I change? Is it possible? How will I know that I am getting results?
It happens over time, and often you will start to notice changes very quickly. You might even find yourself talking about new ideas, making plans, understanding yourself more, and identifying connections between your thoughts and behaviors that you have never even considered.
The precious gift of therapy is an investment in yourself – a commitment of time to acquire learning, empowerment, and skill acquisition.
Your bravery to reach out starts your journey. Finding the value of yourself is my continued hope.
This is a journey – change tricks to tools.
I will talk, teach, and be inquisitive about how you think and why you behave the way you do. We will touch on your past, but we will not stay to relieve the pain or reminisce on past narratives or traumas. I have pockets full of tools to help you contain, distort, and release your unwelcomed emotion(s) and patterns.
These methods help retore the mind-body connection. Calming of the nervous system releases tension in the body and reinstates the energetic flow. This allows those old patterns and limiting beliefs to be explored; it creates opportunities to learn to communicate more effectively, to improve your personal relationship, to take charge, and to confidently live your life’s plan free from worry.
Over several sessions, you will be introduced to skills that change your thought patterns. You’ll be more aware of what and how you feel, allowing you to alter how you approach your day and interactions with others.
You will learn how you think, behave, and respond to others… and in turn understand how and why they may have been reacting to you.
Maybe you’re asking yourself…
Can I trust this woman with my secret?
Trust is crucial, and confidentiality is essential. Trust comes from a safe space, a lack of judgment, and my ability to secure your privacy.
Disclosures and secrets will be met with warmth and compassion, free of criticism and critique. I will always acknowledge the thought, the feeling, or the behavior and meet it with encouragement and hope, exploring the ‘why’ and connective roots based on past experiences. Context helps us understand why we might behave in certain ways.
Depending on the course of treatment, an important person in your life might join the session or decide to meet with me for an individual session. When we learn a new language, those around us need to learn, too, for greater understanding and connection.
Privacy will be maintained and confidentiality upheld. Your life, emotions, behaviors, experiences, and feelings are your story to tell.
This is a warm, welcoming place to be…
It doesn’t have a couch (surprise!), so guess what? You don’t need to lie down – just to sit comfortably.
I have been told that I am nontraditional; I am talkative, inquisitive, comforting, compassionate, and direct.
I am an influencer. I love what I do, and you will learn to love and care for yourself.
My mission is to help people feel better than when I met them.
Therapy is an adventurous journey…
It is like a roller coaster; there may be tears and laughter through the twists and turns of tackling fear and stomping doubts.
My approach is to make our exploration as fun as possible. We take life very seriously and cling to responsibility, but when we stop having fun, we lose our innocence and confidence and crush our dreams and wants.
Our challenges offer us opportunities to grow, change, and create the life we want.
About Me
I pride myself on positive influence.
Our language greatly impacts how we feel, and I value happiness.
No one likes to be wrong, told what to do, or said to be wrong. I have ways to tap into your subconscious mind to make subtle shifts in language and adjust our patterns of thinking as the subconscious mind makes all our decisions. Let’s start running these ideas by ourselves first.
Our unconscious mind works off systems and programs; the systems are innate, but the programs often get modified and need updates.
Happiness is not only essential but absolutely necessary for your well-being. I always create a safe space to heal your body, emotions, and mind.
I care about people and love what I do.
This journey becomes easier when you take it with me by your side. It is time to stop reading self-help books or receiving unproductive advice from your friends and family. Your friends and family care about you, but they will offer advice that does not offer sustainable change. This is about creating the life you want for yourself, not for them.
I love the opportunities my job provides. It allows me to learn from you and share my clinical experiences and expertise. Watching individual transitions is the fuel that keeps me excited, enthusiastic, and committed to creating change for everyone I meet.
I am committed to sharing my secrets…
… of how I found happiness after many years of being prideful in how strong I was for surviving all that life had thrown my way.
As it turned out, that “survivor badge” I was wearing was a shield. I used anger to put space between myself and others to avoid vulnerability and pain.
Going through life without trusting others or myself didn’t work – it just left me exhausted.
When I connected to a personal transformation coach…
I was introduced to the power of communication. I learned about the rules we generate to manage our life, the limits we layer on, and the stories we tell ourselves.
I learned it was possible to stop living a below-average life fueled with anger, distrust, and fear of disappointment. Through regular trainings and strategies, I became less afraid of my feelings and wants and started to speak my truths. I learned that when I allowed my emotions to build up without expression, I was on the attack when I did share my feelings.
I waited too long and unnecessarily suffered and hurt myself because it worked. It reinforced the distance and loneliness I thought that I wanted. And then it stopped working.
I’ve been known to play various life roles…
… including that of a daughter, friend, student, wife, mother, widow, survivor, yogi, caretaker, educator, mentor, leader, and dog-lover, to name a few.
I love to read, cook, hike, travel, and take chances. I am an extrovert. I love good conversations, meeting new people, and learning new things. I enjoy spending my free time with my daughter and our two pups.
Outside the office, I can be found cozied up on the couch or out and about: on my yoga mat, in nature, spending time with loved ones, or dining at my favorite restaurants.
I am continuing to master doing what I want and going after my happiness.
